I called because of a garage door opener problem.I kinda knew the problem was with the computer board. The operator said our techs have a stocked truck. I knew your company cannot stock the 1000's of boards, but thought you could order one and replace the old one. Your tech checked to see if the outlet was functional (which I already checked, and told him it was fine) and confirmed I would need a board. He stated that your company doesn't replace computer boards and pushed to sell a new motor for $800.00 When I said no, he pushed again for a sale of $159 for a tune up. Again I declined and just took it on the chin for $89, for absolutely nothing. Very disappointed in your company. It just seemed like your employee had dollar signs before his eyes and how much can I get.

Mitch and Jake did the install. Extremely professional and courteous. I was impressed by their level of organization and cleanliness. These employees make your business successful . Administrative staff was a tad argumentative with my concerns .

Review:

Although Prince & Mitch seemed to do an excellent job with the installation of my new garage door, I was not pleased when it came time to pay!!! There was too much confusion when I was prepared to pay the balance due, Mitch had to call Lety so that she could try to explain it to me. She also sent email to me that included “a missing invoice” ~ after this almost 3 hour visit, I’m still confused & just feeling as if I’ve paid too much for what I got!

While the work is as good as anybody, price is not. They are very pricey. Almost feels like got ripped off given the urgency. Would I hire them again, probably not.

Original repair in February was not correctly repaired. Spent $400 but unprofessional repair. Called back September to report concern about faulty repair in February. Today Ken Odoerno serviced/repaired garage door professionally. Finally some peace of mind. Concerns for garage door faulty functioning have diminished. For Ken-5 stars. But previous service in February 2stars. Thanks Ken

The garage dor was installed satisfactorily. However after there was an issue with failure to make a permit appointment when promised, causing me lost days from work. Very unfortunate. My time is valuable too.

Last week I had 2 springs put on my garage door, and I was given a total quote for the spring repair. I mentioned to the girl in customer service that it was a 2 car garage door, and she mentioned to me that the 2 springs needed to be replaced, so I asked her for a total price including service and after the service was done, my daughter called me that it was double the price. The girl never mentioned that the quote was per spring. I was disappointing that I was misinformed.

Service was promised during a 2 hour window on a Saturday. With 40 min left in the window the technician called and stated he was still working on a job that would take another 3 hours! He cancelled the visit and told me to call the toll free number to reschedule. They rescheduled for the next day. Repair was great and efficient. He arrived on time and was pleasant. No issues there. I resent having to loose 2 weekend days waiting for the repair. The first tech knew well in advance that he could not possibly have made the appointment in time and could have given me the courtesy of a call much earlier.

Review:

I did notice the marked vehicle and the employees identified themselves from Precision Garage Door. The door installation seems to have been done correctly, i.e. it works. The Heritage 3000 door I bought is beautiful and the dark brown goes well with the trim on my house. I called the salesman & ordered the door on March 18, 2015. The door was not installed until May 4, 2015, since the style & color I wanted was a special order. The salesman told me it would take 3 weeks "max." Due to the delay & to the fact that the co. had more than 50% of the cost of the door which means I had lost use of in my investment account, the co. gave me a 50.00 discount on the price. I thought this was fair & even generous. When the installer arrived, he was repeatedly rude. He was surprised that some cabinets & shelving outside the track of the door had to be removed in order to do the installation. The salesman had included this service at no extra charge and referenced it on the invoice. He objected to the "discounted" price I received(I had a coupon from one of your ads which the salesman had honored); he objected to no added charge for the items to be removed to allow for installation; he complained about being asked to haul away the shelving; but, he did take whatever wouldn't fit easily in my trash can; he objected to the balance due as his invoice differed from mine by the 50.00 discount Dawn had given me; I made him a copy of the invoice & gave it to him with my credit card; then, he said: "and you want to pay with a credit card?" I had planned to give him a 20.00 tip for the extra, unexpected work; but, with his surly attitude, I didn't. He did advise that my current door opener was old prior to installation. After installation, he said, "It won't last long. It will probably fail when you need it most." The price of a new one was either 499.00 or 599.00; I don't remember exactly. I said it was working fine before. He said he "didn't touch it" except to disconnect & reconnect it to the new door(I think that's touching it; but, I didn't say anything). Some lumber was taken off the top of my shelving & put outside with my OK. Bobby's helper moved it back into the garage when the job was completed. I asked him to put it back on top of the shelving as I had to park my car where he had stacked it. Bobby said, "I was going to leave it outside; he was nice enough to bring it in for you." They did pick it up & put it back on top of the remaining shelving. Then, Bobby's helper(we were never introduced) said that, with vibration, 'the lumber will probably fall off & hit your car. You should throw it away." I was glad to see them and their "attitude" leave. Later that night, I find an e-mail invoice with the technician's recommendations that my door opener had failed 7 tests, including a loose wire. Couldn't he have tightened that when he was here? The alarming part is that the salesman inspected my door & opener at the initial sales appointment & rated 5 of those same 7 items as "pass" as opposed to "fail." That inspection was on March 12, 2015. The two tests the opener failed at that time had to do with safety eyes & safety reverse. I believe my door opener does not have the photoelectric cells to meet that test. It's just not equipped to do that. I believe that the invoice after the job was done was the final insult. The salesman, Robert, was very knowledgeable & accomodating. Dawn in your office was equally pleasant, helpful, and definitely customer-service oriented. Robert should have told Bobby about the extra work that would be required; so that he was not "blindsided' when he arrived. Dawn should have sent Bobby the same invoice I had in order to avoid confusion when it came time for payment. Bobby should have expressed his anger at someone other than me. The price I paid and the discounts I received were none of his business. How I paid was also none of his business. The lack of internal communication that caused his anger was not my fault either. His anger should not have been directed at me. He even complained about the "late start". I set the appt. for 1:00 PM; he arrived about 1:40 or 1:45. I deeply resent the "scare tactic" used by sending me an invoice where the door opener failed all 7 tests when only a few weeks earlier it had passed inspection. With that, Bobby lost all credibility with me. Only time will tell how long the garage door opener will last. I won't be calling Precision to replace it if/when it fails I gave you 3 stars because I believe I got a beautiful door at a good price and the installation itself seemed to be professional & well done. I was impressed with the salesman who is a good advocate for your company. It's unfortunate that your technician's attitude left a really negative impression of your company. On a positive note, they did clean up after the installation very well & were generally polite when I offered them water or other accomodations.

New garage door installed. Door does not close 100%. From outside door, it looks like the top portion of door is leaning in. Noticeable to all, even inspector. Was told by a tech the beam inside garage is causing door not to close correctly. Was suggested having someone trim about 1/2" of bottom of beam then call Precision to have a Tech come back for a maintance call to tweak the door so it closes. Called for help getting someone to performing the 'trimming' because I cannot locate anyone that will do it. Until this gets resolved to my satisfaction, it is an incomplete job and I will pass this story on to whoever asks me what company installed the garage door.

Told one price on the phone and it was double when the tech arrived. Haggled with price for 30 min before agreeing on a price. Price went from $370 down to $250 for replacing springs. Tech did a good job with install.

A Response from: Jim Migani

We apologize for the confusion. You were quoted for one spring over the phone and when the tech arrived it was determined that both springs needed to be replaced. We would never intentionally mislead a customer and you were given a drastic discount in attempt to make it right. Thank you for your business

I was glad that someone came out to service the door on the day I called in but was disappointed in the amount charged. I was told when I called there would be an $89.00 for the home service call, but that woul go towards the repair. The technician was very polite and we were told they just needed a lube and tune on my 2 doors, which is what he did. He was there maybe, 20 to 30 minutes and when he was done the charge was $189.00. I think that is very high for spraying some lubricant on the runners of the doors.

The technician was very professional, but did not have the part needed on the initial service call. Second service call resulted in the part installed malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. Third service call was a success, but seems that the motor does not function as well as was expected, with the door going up slower then before.
